To ensure the safety and well-being of our users in all four pools, the Aquatic Center is supported by a dedicated team of lifeguards available 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Their mission is to uphold hygiene, comfort, and safety for everyone. Prevention and education are the guiding principles of their daily work. Concentration, vigilance, sound judgment, and quick decision-making are essential skills for this highly engaging profession, which carries significant human responsibility. Whether rescuing a swimmer in distress, responding to unexpected situations, or assisting individuals with reduced mobility, their constant attentiveness and physical fitness are paramount.
They regularly participate in swimming training to maintain their physical condition, as well as first aid exercises, which include practical scenarios and theoretical refreshers. This helps ensure their skills remain sharp, developing reflexes and automatic responses to manage various emergencies both in and around the water.
Another key responsibility of lifeguards is coordinating water space planning and preparing the pools to meet specific requirements for schools, individuals with mobility challenges, and athletes practicing various team or individual sports. The pools at Vaudoise Arena are equipped with movable walls and adjustable floors, allowing for customized water configurations based on intended use.
Operational staff ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities, making sure every space remains welcoming. They also oversee adherence to facility usage rules, contributing to a pleasant environment for all. Additionally, they are responsible for the maintenance of work attire and uniforms for the Aquatic Center.
Maintaining water quality is another priority. Daily checks and analyses are conducted to ensure compliance with current regulations.
During the annual summer closure, all maintenance operations, including pool draining and water renewal, are overseen by the management teams. Their expertise is essential for supervising contractors and ensuring quality control.
Aquafitness Coaches – A Profession in Its Own Right

This offering complements the wide range of activities available at the Vaudoise Arena's Aquatic Center.
"Many people think our job is simply standing all day, motionless, with no interaction. Regular visitors to the Vaudoise aréna can see that we’re dynamic and have a variety of responsibilities, including customer service, monitoring, prevention, and facility maintenance.
In reality, I walk nearly 15,000 steps every day across our vast spaces—not to mention the training and rescue drills in the water! Being a lifeguard at the Vaudoise aréna is truly an active, sporty job."
