Behind every practice, every match, and performance, our expertise ensures the ice is crafted to perfection.
At the heart of the Ice Center and its three rinks, technicians shape and maintain the ice with millimeter precision. Temperature, thickness, hardness, and flatness are constantly monitored to provide top-quality surfaces for daily training, competitions, and sessions open to the public and schools. Their role requires great expertise, sharp observation skills, and full mastery of driving Zamboni.
Behind the scenes
During hockey games, their reactivity is crucial: they sometimes intervene right in the middle of a match to ensure ice quality and player safety. Their versatility also extends to the arena's major transformations: removing boards, protecting surfaces, and completely reconfiguring the venue to host concerts and shows. These behind-the-scenes professionals make the transition between elite sport and major events possible, contributing to the magic that happens both on and off the ice.
Working at the Ice Center means diving into a living spectacle. Every day, I witness the remarkable dedication of young people and athletes pushing themselves to achieve their dreams. Our role behind the scenes is to preserve that magic and create the perfect conditions for their performance.
