The King of the Waltz Returns to Lausanne in 2026

The world-famous Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu is preparing to make Lausanne vibrate once again! Accompanied by his spectacular 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, he will perform at the Vaudoise aréna on Saturday, 26 September 2026. Renowned for his grand productions and unforgettable concerts, André Rieu has captivated millions of spectators in sold-out arenas across the globe.

    A Global Phenomenon

André Rieu is one of the most popular living artists of our time, giving more than 80 concerts each year for over 700,000 spectators worldwide. Surrounded by a team of more than 100 people, he brings his music to every corner of the planet—from Chile to Abu Dhabi. Next autumn, he will share this musical magic with Swiss audiences.

Lausanne holds a very special place in my heart. I remember the warmth and enthusiasm of the audience so clearly. I can’t wait to return and share the joy of music with all of you,” says André Rieu.

    A Romantic and Diverse Program

The concert at the Vaudoise aréna will offer a rich and varied programme featuring opera arias, musical-theatre classics, film scores, timeless hits, traditional songs and, of course, immortal waltzes. Thanks to his unique ability to blend classical masterpieces with popular melodies, André Rieu has introduced the waltz to millions of people—football fans included, who have been known to sway to Shostakovich!

Founded in 1987, the Johann Strauss Orchestra remains the largest private orchestra in the world, bringing together musicians from sixteen different countries.
